Terms of Service

Last Updated: September 9, 2026

Welcome to the digital services provided by St. Augustine's School ("School", "we", "our", or "us").

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the School's website, alumni portal, student portal, teacher portal, parent portal, administrative systems, and related digital services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating or using an account.

Different Services may have different eligibility requirements.

Alumni may be permitted to create an account using an email address or an authorized Google account, subject to the School's registration and verification procedures.

Teachers, staff, and administrators may be required to use an authorized School Google Workspace account or another authentication method provided by the School.

Students and parents may be required to use accounts created or authorized by the School.

You are responsible for keeping your account information secure and for all activity performed through your account.

2. Google Sign-In

Some Services allow users to authenticate using Google.

By using Google Sign-In, you authorize the Service to receive the basic account information necessary to authenticate and identify you, such as your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile picture where provided.

For School staff and administrators, access through Google may be restricted to authorized School Google Workspace accounts.

Using Google Sign-In does not give the School access to your Google services such as Gmail, Google Drive, or Google Photos unless a separate permission is explicitly requested for a specific feature.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful and legitimate purposes.

You must not:

  • Use another person's account without authorization
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to School systems
  • Circumvent authentication or security controls
  • Upload malicious software or harmful content
  • Interfere with the operation of the Services
  • Use the Services to distribute spam or unauthorized commercial content
  • Impersonate another person
  • Submit intentionally false or misleading information
  • Use information obtained through the Services in an unlawful or abusive manner

The School may restrict or terminate access when necessary to protect users, School systems, or the integrity of the Services.

4. Alumni Community

Alumni users may be able to create profiles, participate in alumni communities, post content, comment, or interact with other alumni.

Users are responsible for content they submit.

You must not submit content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, fraudulent, or otherwise inappropriate.

The School may review, moderate, remove, or restrict content that violates these Terms or School policies.

5. School Information and Academic Data

Student, teacher, parent, and administrative Services may provide access to School-related information, including academic records, attendance, fees, schedules, communications, and other information based on the user's role.

Access to such information is controlled through authentication and authorization mechanisms.

Users must not attempt to access information belonging to another person without authorization.

6. Payments and Donations

Certain Services may allow users to make donations or payments through third-party payment providers.

Payment information may be processed directly by the applicable payment provider and may be subject to that provider's terms and privacy policies.

The School does not intentionally store complete payment card information unless explicitly stated otherwise.

7. Intellectual Property

The Services and their content, including School branding, logos, text, graphics, software, and other materials, may be owned by or licensed to St. Augustine's School.

You may use the Services for their intended educational, administrative, alumni, or School-related purposes.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit School-owned content without appropriate authorization.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Services available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The Services may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, security measures, infrastructure failures, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

9. Account Suspension or Termination

The School may suspend or terminate an account when:

  • These Terms are violated
  • Unauthorized or suspicious activity is detected
  • The account is no longer eligible for the relevant Service
  • Continued access presents a security or operational risk
  • Required by law or School policy

Where appropriate, users may contact the School to request clarification regarding an account restriction.

10. Third-Party Services

The Services may integrate with third-party platforms, including Google and payment providers.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

The School is not responsible for services that are independently operated by third parties.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information.

12. Disclaimer

The Services are provided for their intended School-related purposes.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the School does not guarantee that all information provided through the Services will always be complete, current, or error-free.

Users should contact the appropriate School authority when official confirmation of important information is required.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, St. Augustine's School will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special losses arising from the use or inability to use the Services.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When changes are made, we may update the "Last Updated" date and provide additional notice where appropriate.

Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of The Gambia, subject to any mandatory legal requirements that may apply.
